For Immediate Release

May 22nd, 2020 – Prime Pork Looks Forward to Future Expansion

Prime Pork is excited to announce that they will continue to expand their operations with the merger of their business with Hylife. Founded by Glen Taylor in 2016 to resurrect the former PM Beef facility, Prime Pork now employs more than 650 people.

“I have been really pleased with the employees at Prime Pork. With this new partner and leadership, I am confident this agreement will be great for the community, employees and area producers.” said Glen Taylor.

“This is a unique opportunity to partner with an operation that has an established network of producers, customers, and employees,” Grant Lazaruk, President and Chief Executive Officer of HyLife, commented about the addition of over 650 Prime Pork employees. “Our company puts great emphasis on taking care of our employees and our communities. We are eager to continue to build on what Prime Pork has done in their community and the surrounding area.”

“I was pleased with the start-up, Prime Pork, in Windom. We wanted to provide jobs and opportunities for our employees. With the merger, we will be able to continue to build on that foundation,” Taylor said.

Prime Pork’s location in southern Minnesota provides an abundance of resources, securing hog supply and the other raw materials required to operate a processing facility efficiently. Prime Pork and HyLife together will have a product flow from the United States and Canada, providing additional marketing opportunity to customers who only carry pork products from either the US or Canada.
